More than 2000 pals have occupied a South African platinum mine. The men went in the morning into the slot of the platinum mine in Rustenburg Thembelani, refused underground but to return to work. The protest of the miners is directed against the dismissal of four trustees of the union AMCU. According to the owner of the mine, the mining group Anglo American, which prevented some buddy employees from leaving the shaft.

The South African Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe called for an end to the conflict in the platinum mines. South Africa's attractiveness for mining investment must not be jeopardized. For months, the radical AMCU provides a bitter dispute with the traditional, the ANC-affiliated Union of Mineworkers NUM.
